This nature discovery kit allows you to grow your own butterflies from caterpillars. A wonderful way to teach the life cycle of a butterfly and the the miracle of metamorphosis. What is better than demonstrating with the real thing? Give your students the opportunity to watch caterpillars change into chrysalides and then emerge as beautiful Painted Lady Butterflies. Raise and feed your very own butterflies and then release them into the wild!
The entire transformation from caterpillar to adult butterfly takes about three to five weeks (cycle length varies throughout the year). The reusable net 'pops up' easily and can be hung or placed on a table top and is perfect for up-close butterfly viewing of enquiring minds.
The kit contains
- reusable habitat net (300mm tall)
- a free Caterpillar Certificate for you to redeem for 5 live caterpillars
- full nutrition (no live specimens are in the kit)
- feeding pipette
- complete instructions
